Lesson One - Part Three
Basic Conversation - Continued
Here are some more examples of verbs with "you" and "I" using the verb neniisí3ei-, "work."
neniisí3éinoo | I'm working |
neniisí3éin | You're working |
néihoowniisí3ei | I'm not working |
héihoowniisí3ei | You're not working |
kooneniisí3ei | Am I working? |
kooheniisí3ei | Are you working? |
Remember the parts of the word that you learned on the previous page:
* You can say that "I work" by adding -noo to the end. |
* You can say that "you work" by adding -n to the end. |
* You can say "not work" by putting neihoow- (me) or heihoow- (you) on the beginning. |
* You can ask a question by putting koone- (me) or koohe- (you) on the beginning. |
As you can see from the examples above, a number of small changes occur when things are added to the basic verb, such as vowels changing or changing length. Don't worry about these for right now. Simply follow what is given in the examples above or by your teacher.
