Yellow Medicine and the Arapaho

Elders report that the root of nihoonoxu' was grated, boiled, and then drunk for infections. The plant is described by elders as being around a foot or more high, with yellow flower heads, and growing on flat, moist areas in the mountains. The Cheyenne use Senecio triangularis similarly.
