Other: implement. Nickersonn identifies this plant as used for making elk calls (the stem).
Murphey says that this plant is the “Elk lily of the Arapahos.” It is not clear whether this reference is meant to be a translation of the original Arapaho name. There is no word for ‘lily’ per se in Arapaho, but perhaps the Arapaho name (based on the above uses) had the word hiwoxuu (elk) in it.
