Arrowroot and the Arapaho

Food: Elders report that a root was gathered from a water plant which grew in muddy areas of rivers and streams. The exact identity has not been confirmed, but the descriptions matches arrowroot, which has been confirmed as being gathered in the same way and eaten by the Cheyenne. Interestingly, only women were allowed to gather this root.
