import

import.01 - get a commodity in trade; or transfer data

IMPORT NAME NOTES: Definition expanded to include "transfer data" based on iSAT corpus. The shared meaning of "bring item from A to B" plus identical argument structure seemed to warrant a single frame, though the sense could be split if desired. An additional argument for destination/recipient is probably warranted ("a dealer who imports cars from Italy to the U.S."; "import digital photographs onto your hard drive"); not adding for now in order to not trigger retrofits.
IMPORT-V NOTES: Frames file for 'import' based on sentences in financial subcorpus. No Verbnet entry. Comparison with 'get' and 'export'. (from import.01-v predicate notes)
IMPORT-N NOTES: Updated by Julia. No Vncls. (from import.01-n)
