Fei Xia

Fei Xia is an Assistant Professor at Linguistics Department at the University of Washington. She is a computational linguist who has worked on a wide range of topics, including grammar extraction and generation, treebank development, machine translation, creating multilingual resources and information extraction for biomedical domain. For treebank development, she was in charge of the Chinese Penn Treebank Project and is currently a member of the Hindi/Urdu Treebank Project. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001.
