Heidi Harley

Heidi Harley is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Arizona. She received her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995, and has also conducted research and taught in short-term positions at the Université de Lille III, the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University and Oxford University. Her primary interests are in syntax, morphology, and lexical semantics, particularly argument structure, and event structure, and she has worked extensively in the Distributed Morphology framework. She has published studies of phenomena in English, Italian, Japanese, Irish and Hiaki. Topics on which she has published include causatives, case assignment, ditransitives, pronominal structure, nominalizations, verb-particle constructions, verbs of motion and agentivity.
