Rajesh Bhatt

Rajesh Bhatt is Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a syntactician who specializes in the syntax-semantics interface and comparative syntax of Modern Indo-Aryan languages. He is actively engaged in research on Hindi-Urdu, Kashmiri, and non-standard varieties of Hindi-Urdu, focusing on issues of unaccusativity, complex predicates, case and agreement. He received his PhD in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999.
