As I have suggested, some knowledge must be carefully placed, contained, and transmitted in space and time. Inappropriate use of sacred knowledge can negate life movement. Sacred knowledge itself pertains to ways of enclosing and opening knowledge to others. Specifically, all objects and persons with power must be bundled, enclosed in a dwelling, or bounded in some way. (Anderson p.250) Throughout the design of the Arapaho Music web site our web team came across areas that dealt with sacred Arapaho knowledge. There are some songs and ceremonies of the Arapaho that are not put on the web site because they are sacred and they are to be preserved within the tribe. On this site there is no audio or written music for the peyote ceremony due to the ceremonys sacredness. The songs and ceremonies featured on this site were chosen because of their familiarity and are more well known than some of the more personal and sacred songs and ceremonies of Northern Arapaho Tribe.
