My dissertation is semantics-based, and focuses on temporal properties in Modern Standard Arabic. However, my academic interests are vast and include (but aren't restricted to) Semitic linguistics, tense and aspect, Arabic dialectology, sociolinguistics, the interaction of language, gender and sexuality, phonetics and phonology.
2004 - current: Research Assistant at The University of Colorado at Boulder, The Center for Computational Language and Education Research under the supervision of Dr. Martha Palmer. I have mainly done work with framing the propositional properties of predicates in Arabic via Arabic PropBank (APB). In addition to APB, I had done work on a couple of other smaller projects (Arabic sense-tagging and Arabic Ontology.)
