Two-syllable verbs have noun function and have the characteristics of nouns
- modified by quantifier
- modified by noun/adjective
- modifies another noun
VN: is a word which can have both verb and noun functions. A verbal noun is usually two-syllable/character, its noun meaning is abstract; its verb function is obvious; it functions as a noun in all/most of the following ways:
- can be the object of YOU
- can be the object of a verb phrase
- can be modified by noun(s) directly
- can modify noun(s) directly
