The Society for the Study of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas (SSILA)
Description
The Society for the Study of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas (SSILA) will hold its Summer Meeting Sunday, July 31 at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, during the LSA Summer Institute.
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute papers addressing topics significant to the advancement of the scientific study of native American languages.
The meeting will be held all day Sunday, July 31, with a reception on the evening of Saturday, July 30 in the Humanities lobby.
SSILA members will be interested to know that a separate LSA workshop on the Sociolinguistics of Endangered Languages will be held the same weekend; the workshop is free and SSILA members are welcome to attend.
Information about SSILA and the call for papers for the Summer Meeting can be found at www.ssila.org. The deadline for abstract submission is April 1, 2011.
