Jenny Mandelbaum

Jenny Mandelbaum received her PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and her BA in French and Philosophy from Oxford University. She is Associate Professor of Communication at Rutgers University, where she served as Department Chair from 2003-2006. Dr. Mandelbaum teaches courses at all levels of the curriculum, and has received several teaching awards, grants and fellowships. Her research and teaching interests are in conversation analysis, language and social interaction and relationships and identity. Her publications address the organization of everyday interaction, with particular emphasis on storytelling and other communication practices through which relationships and identities are constructed and managed.
