Suzanne Kemmer

Suzanne Kemmer is Associate Professor of Linguistics and Director of Cognitive Sciences at Rice University, Houston. She received her PhD in Linguistics from Stanford University in 1988 and her MA in German Studies from Stanford University in 1985. She was formerly Assistant Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, San Diego. She previously taught at an LSA Linguistic Institute in 2001 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research interests are in cognitively plausible linguistic theories, cognitive semantics, grammatical theory and description, language typology and semantic and syntactic change.
