William S. Horton

William S. Horton [Sid] received a B.S. in Psychology from Duke University in 1991 and a PhD in Cognition and Communication from the University of Chicago in 1999. He is currently Assistant Professor of Psychology at Northwestern University, where he has taught since 2005. This will be his first time teaching at an LSA Linguistic Institute. His primary research interests concern perspective-taking and cognitive models of common ground, particularly the role played by memory in conversation. He is also interested in non-literal language, narrative comprehension and discourse processing in older adults.
