Greville G. Corbett is Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at the University of Surrey, where he leads the Surrey Morphology Group. He works particularly on the typology of features, as in Gender (1991), Number (2000) and Agreement (2006), all published by Cambridge University Press. Most recently he has been developing the canonical approach to typology. He is one of the originators of Network Morphology, and his publications on morphology include The Syntax-Morphology Interface: A Study of Syncretism (with Matthew Baerman and Dunstan Brown, CUP 2005). His latest fieldwork was on Archi, and he collaborated with Marina Chumakina, Dunstan Brown and Harley Quilliam on the Archi Dictionary. He has taught at a dozen summer schools and similar events, including participating in the 2009 Berkeley Linguistic Institute and giving the Galileo Lectures.
