Aoju Chen

Aoju Chen received her PhD from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2005, and subsequently joined the Language Acquisition Group at the Max Plank Institute for Psycholinguistics as staff scientist. Her research is rooted in intonational phonology and takes an interdisciplinary approach, encompassing phonology, phonetics, pragmatics, language acquisition and language processing. The focus of her recent research has been on the production and processing of intonation as a device for the marking of information structure in children, adults, and adult second-language learners, and early intonational development.
