Wynn Chao is Lecturer in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. She completed her BA in 1976 (Queens College, CUNY) and her PhD in 1986 in Linguistics (University of Massachusetts, Amherst). Her previous appointments include positions at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Ottawa. Her primary fields of interest include syntax, semantics, Romance and Chinese Linguistics, typology and universals.
