"A lot of them ask me to sing Amazing Grace in Arapaho. Of course every tribe has it, about every tribe in the United States has it [in their language]. Arapahos have their own way of saying things. So that’s the way it is, you have to put your own wording in there, you cannot go word for word on it. But of course you know how people are, they talk from the back. That’s not how you say Amazing Grace and all that. I wish they’d come forward and show me what amazing grace is. What is amazing, what’s grace? How would you say that? It’d take a long time to find out in Arapaho. So what the southern Arapaho’s did was to put some prayer words into that song and let it go at that. Because in Arapaho you cannot go from word to word for any kind of song."
