all western salmon are in the Family Salmonidae, genus Onchorhyncus.
Salmon and the Arapaho
Salmon are not native to the interior US, and do not occur around the Wind River Reservation. They formerly occurred in substantial numbers in the mountains of Idaho during spawning runs, just to the west of traditional Arapaho areas.
