Mountain Lions in the Arapaho

Mountain lion skins were especially favored for making quivers. An area on the east side of Kawuneechee Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park, between Timber and Onahu Creeks, was known as bexookeenokoy, meaning ‘Mountain Lion’s Lodge/Den.’
