Location

look for these small, colorful falcons sitting on electric lines as you drive along roads. They are often seen hovering above fields with a fluttering mode of flight.

 

Falcons and the Arapaho

Because of their yellow/orange color, Kestrel feathers were used in the Peyote Ceremony similarly to Flicker Feathers (Kroeber, The Arapaho, p. 407).
